We at Docfacto have decided to break apart out toolkit, so there is the plain Java toolkit and the Documentation Suite for DITA. The DITA collection contains elements of the Java toolkit, and two user guides, manuals, system documentation are now required.
In the old days, this would have filled me with dread, not just the art of breaking apart the documentation, but trying to keep the two in sync. Structured content and DITA to the rescue. With the simple addition of the product property, I now have two sets of documentation, which share the same content and are part of the build process.
